LVL Lashes
LVL is a revolutionary eyelash treatment created exclusively by Nouveau Lashes in 2006. With immediate results and low maintenance required, the LVL Lash Lift continues to take the beauty industry by storm.
By straightening your natural lashes at the root and then tinting them, the LVL Lash Lift gives you the appearance of longer, thicker lashes with no need for mascara. With results lasting on average between 6 and 8 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth cycle. It is the perfect treatment for people with a low maintenance beauty regimen.

It’s recommended using the Lash and Brow Conditioning Serum morning and evening to keep your lashes at their very best and advise avoiding using any oil-based eye products. Take care when using your normal skin care products as they may contain oil. Please note the important aftercare information. This treatment must be undertaken by a professional Nouveau Lashes technician.
If it’s not Nouveau certified, it’s not LVL.

How it works
The structure of a single hair is made up of three parts: the hair cuticle, the cortex and the medulla. When the lifting balm is applied during the LVL treatment, the hydrogen comes into contact with the air and oxidises. This creates a chemical process which breaks down the disulphate bonds in each hair, allowing them to move into a new shape. The next step is applying the volumizing fix, which reforms the disulphate bonds into their new shape, which is long and lifted with maximum volume!
This new shape of the eyelashes takes up to 48 hours for the disulphate bonds to lock into place and cure, which is why it is important to emphasise to follow the correct aftercare for 48 hours post-treatment. Once the lashes get hot or wet, they will fall back into their alpha-keratin (natural) state and the lift will drop.
Pre-Treatment
A Patch Test must be carried out at least 48 hours prior to your treatment. The Patch Test Kit can be sent to you in the mail, or you’re welcome to pick it up. Please see the Patch Test Instructions below when you receive your kit.
Aftercare
Whilst LVL lashes require little to no upkeep, the longevity of your results will depend on the care taken after your treatment. The first 48 hours post-treatment requires special attention.
Please follow the advice below:
- Avoid getting your lashes wet within the first 24 hours after application. Saunas and steam rooms (and steam ironing!) must be avoided for 48 hours. The high temperature can cause your lashes to drop, or not last as long as they should, which is between 6 and 8 weeks.
- Avoid using oil-based eye products and take care when using your normal skin care products as they may contain oil.
- Do not pick, pull or rub your eyelashes.
- Lightly groom your lashes with an eyelash brush after getting them wet to ensure they dry naturally in their correct shape. Lash Lounge will provide you with an eyelash brush after each treatment.
- We recommend the use of applying Nouveau’s Lash and Brow Conditioning Serum as part of your morning and evening skincare regimen. This product is formulated packed full of nourishing goodness which promotes strong and healthy lashes, and even acts as a primer beneath your mascara.
- Should you choose to wear mascara, it’s recommended to use an oil free, water based mascara.
- Eye makeup should be removed with an oil free makeup remover.
- Eyelash curlers should not be used.

A lash perm curls the entire lash creating a curl across the entire length of your eye lashes and you may find that they curl back on themselves… However, the LVL treatment straightens the lashes from the root and lifts your lashes resulting in a more dramatic effect. However, different levels of curl are available depending on the look your seeking to create, and your technician will be able to recommend what is best suited to you. LVL also includes an eye lash tint. Creating a mascara style effect, and the appearance of added length and volume.
Contact lenses must be removed for the duration of the treatment. After the application is complete, lenses can be worn as normal.
